Each day Hadassah makes small steps of progress. She began eating some regular food on Monday; but only minimally. She can get into a chair to sit as well as stand for brief periods of time. She is more alert now and starting to show her normal personality - though she's still tired. She takes naps as needed; she is obviously still in healing mode.
Today, she had a cardio-catheter again. The pressures are very good; thank you for praying for this especially - our prayers have been answered! Her new heart's "output" is OK. This is acceptable at this stage of the process; however, we are looking for this to improve. During the catheter, they took a biopsy of the new heart muscle to check her body's level of rejection, if any, of her new heart. It will be a few days to get these results so please pray that this too will bring gladness to our hearts. Today, two wires and one uncomfortable neck tube were also removed from her body. We are very thankful to be down to only two remaining lines from the original eleven.
Thanks to everyone who has been part of our life these past days and weeks and even months. Thank you for the many prayers that have gone up on her and our behalf (each heard uniquely by a loving God who delights to bless), for your words of encouragement and for all the practical helps that have made each day easier to bear. We appreciate each one of you and we certainly feel that we are being held up by the love you give and the love of God.
Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
Psalm 27:14

Always thankful to read about small steps forward. May you continue to be strengthened during this trial.
