October Nor'easter

This is really crazy.  Apparantly the last time New Jersey saw an October storm like this was during the Civil War (in the 1860s).  Maybe it wasn't so smart to go out yesterday.  But, we did make it home - though we had to abandon our van on the bottom of the hill and walk the rest of the way.

All the beautiful Bradford Pear Trees that normally line our street were split.
None escaped damage.

"Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength!
We will sing and praise your power."
Psalm 21:13

Trudging Up The Hill.  You can do it, Aunty!

Paul coming up the hill.

And no power.  :(

Our weeping maple.  A new species.  :)

"Therefore you also must be ready,
for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
Matthew 24:44

The Changing Weather

Yesterday?  A beautiful walk in the woods behind our house.

After the morning frost, that was.

And today?  Snow.  Forecasting 6-12 inches for today and tonight.

B is for Bones

So, who cares about Shifrah's PreK program?  All she wants to learn about is bones.  And where your food goes when you eat it.  So, bones it is.  And gullets and stomachs and intestines.  And insulin shots.  Why not?

And remember Gunther?  He's getting old but that didn't stop Shifrah from tormenting the poor thing all day.  At one point, she got side-tracked looking at books and did lose him for awhile but he was found again on the bookshelf behind her books!

A Bee On A Flower

The detail God has put in even the smallest of creatures continues to amaze me and testifies of who He is, for all who are willing to see it.
