Grace Given, Grace Needed

The doctor told us yesterday that only 10 years ago it would have been too late for Hadassah to have a transplant due to the risks related to her lung pressures. It is hard to imagine that even during Hadassah's short life, science has made such advances that would save additional lives. It has helped me to understand why God provided a new heart for her so soon - even when we were still grieving the loss of her simple childhood and felt we weren't yet ready to embrace the solution offered to us, God knew abundantly more what our true needs were and ordained things to save her.

Hadassah is gaining some stability as several indicators and functions are improving and normalizing. However, her blood pressure continues to be too high and needs to be stabilized with additional drugs to protect the right side of her new heart which isn’t used to this pressure. The doctors anticipated there would be some of these pressure issues prior to surgery and had expected her to need sedation for at least 3 or 4 days to get stabilization. Maybe she will come off of sedation tomorrow. Please pray for lower blood pressure.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights (James 1:17)

How great God is...to have provided the medical profession with the wisdom & skill required to save Hadassah before we even knew she had a problem. Hope you're feeling better too, Carol.
