Memorial Day Parade

Possibly, the better photo would have been of all the parents trying in vain to get these kids lined up in a nice little smiling group for a photo. As you can see, we did not succeed! Shifrah was most impressed by all the "rescue trucks" and less so by all the candy. Try as we did, she just couldn't figure out that she was supposed to dive in there and get as much candy as she could. She did get a few pieces and is no worse off without a bounty. Maybe next year!

Has it been three years already?

This little girl has been a constant joy since the day we met her. With her crazy curls and a personality to match, we're having a bit of fun here. And as she tells me herself, she's my "sweetie girl"!

And just for the record, the last baby birds I posted were House Finches whereas these are Robins. They need to grow into their beaks yet!

Hadassah found a toad today. She put him in a bucket and covered it and put him in the laundry room as her new (temporary) pet. But, it wouldn't be our pet if he didn't escape - which, of course, he did.

Up Close

I know, I know. Enough with the birds! But, this little guy is so friendly . . .

He just sat there. I could have taken all the pictures I wanted. In fact, I did!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today, we are celebrating the birth and life of a very special lady - my Mom! Lookin' good at 71.

Karate

Finally, we are making good on our promise of karate lessons for Josiah. So far, we are pleased that he hasn't tried any of his new moves on Hadassah.

Remember my baby bird friends? Well, they are growing up! And I think all my watching them in their nest has made them a bit curious about my nest:
